Team building activities are a great way of bringing large groups together. In the Lord Somers Beach Carnival, teams participate in a range of activities such as flag races, tug-o-war, competitive sandcastle building and sand-to-sea ball-roll.

Everyone loves being on the beach but sometimes you need ideas for keeping participants entertained above and beyond swimming. Here we provide some inspiration with our fun program and information sheets.

Beachcombing & rock pool rambling

This activity explores the shoreline and rock pools of Westernport. The student will enjoy abundant marine life while learning how we can rock pool safely and have a minimum impact on this amazing habitat.

On this 5km (1½ hour) coastal walk along the foreshore to Balnarring Beach cliffs, students can explore tidal rock pools while learning about marine life, geology, bird life and Aboriginal history. This activity can include kayaking.
